i am about to receive my lg neon tommorrow or tuesday and i have been looking at some of the features on the internet. u are not able to text with the touchscreen its only for dialing numbers and looking for contacts. sorry but its only the full keyboard you can use.
sorry about this, and no one is really sure why lg chose not to utilize the touch screen more completely, but the touch screen can only be accessed by touching a key located on the lower left button on the neon. that should bring up an onscreen keyboard which you can touch with your fingers.
The touchscreen is limited to number dialing and contacts thats it tho. Also theres a keyboard for texting xD :P

how do you search for contacts on the touchscreen part
@honey if you just go to the contact list and press the button that activates the touch screen dialing, it’ll come up as an abc touch screen, type in some letters and hit the ok button and it’ll find the persons name that your looking for and thats how you search for contacts.

Yea I cant believe this phone isnt full touch screen, like why cant i just touch menu and it go to menu if those other things a touch screen, dont see why a hack isnt out to get past it haha i like the phone though other then that
Even if they didnt make it a full touch screen it should of been so that you can text on it atleast. Everybody doesnt want to slide out the full keyboard eveytime they text.

then i just need to find out were the touchscreen code is for the phone
then i just code the touchscreen code for the phone and make some adjustments for the whole phone then i phone will be touch screen i just need some help does anybody know where i can get the software to see the code for the phone

@joey but the touch screen for the phone doesn’t go all the way to the top of the screen so you would only be able to click the things on the screen that are on the touch screen area.
@joey your basically talking about making a custom firmware yourself, which uses a programming language etc. a fairly difficult task…
@Joey you could go to the hidden menu and look for the codes you are looking for but like encryptabit said you would have to redesign a whole new operating system for the phone and then figure out how to delete the old OS and then somehow upload the new one that you created

Alyssa u can send the pics to your email via mms then u can upload them to wherever u want.
I was pressing some random buttons on my phone the other day and a full keyboard popped up. It was full touchscreen, the whole screen is touch screen! I Typed a quick message clicked send then my contacs came up I touched my friends name and touched the send key. It said message sent and within seconds my friend replied. I clicked the red button or something and everything disspeared, I cannot figure out how to get it back up now
but ive done it once before how is thaht possible then ?
Hi everyone I have officially found a hack for this. It is actually quite simple and not hard for someone to do withing 30 minutes. I will tell you this but i will not release the hack because of legal issues.
